About the Role
HCWH is seeking a Manager of Climate Solutions to lead and implement projects focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the health care sector.

Salary: $71,600 – $82,300 per year

This role plays a critical part in advancing climate-smart health care strategies, supporting organisations in achieving sustainability goals, and driving impactful environmental change. You will collaborate with internal teams and partners to design tools, resources, and initiatives that promote decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning (20%)
- Develop and execute workplans aligned with climate solutions strategies
- Identify opportunities to support health systems in achieving climate goals
- Collaborate with internal teams to align projects with organisational strategy
- Support funding development and maintain relationships with funders
Program Implementation (70%)
- Lead initiatives to increase emissions reduction across U.S. health systems
- Support organisations in setting and achieving climate commitments
- Develop tools such as guides, toolkits, and templates for sustainability actions
- Manage and implement climate solutions projects (energy efficiency, water use reduction, decarbonization)
- Maintain and optimise climate-related resources on organisational platforms
- Track organisational greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes
- Deliver technical guidance and support to partners and stakeholders
- Contribute to content creation (webinars, reports, blogs, conferences like CleanMed)
- Build strong cross-functional and partner relationships
Administrative Support (10%)
- Support budgeting, grant development, and project planning
- Manage contracts, partnerships, and MOUs
- Maintain accurate records of partner engagement and project activities
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is passionate about climate action and sustainability in health care, with strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, sustainability, facilities management, etc.)
- Graduate qualifications or certifications are an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental sustainability (health care preferred)
- Experience working with multiple teams or in a matrix/remote environment
- Background in nonprofit or advocacy organisations is beneficial
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions tracking and reporting
- Understanding of decarbonization strategies and water efficiency
- Familiarity with standards such as:
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
- Greenhouse Gas Protocol
- Science Based Targets initiative
