About the Role

WFP is seeking a Senior SAP Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Specialist to play a critical role in its large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Job Location: Fully Remote (Duty Station: Rome, Italy)

Contract Type: Regular Consultant (CST Level II)
Duration: Until 31 December 2026

This role focuses on ensuring the integrity and evolution of the organisation’s business intelligence ecosystem, particularly during the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA and the migration to SAP Datasphere. You will provide senior technical leadership, oversee analytics systems, and ensure alignment with strategic organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Data Strategy

  • Lead impact assessments and ensure integrity of BI systems during SAP transformation
  • Define standards, architecture, and validation criteria for analytics solutions
  • Oversee SAP data models and ensure alignment with enterprise standards

Data Transformation & Systems Integration

  • Drive SAP data cleansing roadmap to ensure data quality and readiness
  • Coordinate BI integration across platforms (SAP Datasphere, BusinessObjects, Tableau)
  • Ensure continuity of analytics and reporting during system transitions

Analytics & Reporting Optimization

  • Update and optimise SAP BusinessObjects reports and universes
  • Validate and enhance Tableau dashboards and data sources
  • Support enterprise reporting through SAP Datasphere data models

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure quality delivery
  • Provide progress updates, risk assessments, and technical reports
  • Translate business needs into scalable BI solutions

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop technical documentation and training materials
  • Support long-term sustainability of BI systems through knowledge transfer

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT, data analytics, or business intelligence
  • Proven experience in large-scale digital transformation or ERP projects
  • Experience coordinating vendors and implementation partners

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in:
    • SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA
    • SAP ECC 6.x and S/4HANA data structures
    • SAP BusinessObjects (WebI), BEx Analyzer, Query Designer
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, KPIs, data validation)
  • Experience with Tableau and analytics platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (Azure DevOps, Asana, Daptiv)

Additional Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-system environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the United Nations system or similar organisations
  • Knowledge of WFP systems and processes
  • Additional language skills (Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.)
