About the Role
C2ES is seeking a Climate Resilience Intern to support research, stakeholder engagement, and program activities focused on community climate resilience.

This role offers hands-on experience working with climate experts on real-world resilience initiatives, including the Climate Resilient Communities Accelerator. The intern will contribute to research, policy analysis, and program implementation, particularly supporting resilience efforts in Washington State.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Conduct independent research on climate resilience topics such as:
- Extreme heat policies
- Nature-based solutions
- Land use and building codes
- Public-private partnerships
- Support analysis of local, federal, and private sector resilience initiatives
- Track and assess climate resilience trends and developments
Program & Stakeholder Support
- Assist with outreach and engagement for the Climate Resilient Communities Accelerator
- Collaborate with public and private stakeholders on resilience initiatives
- Attend and report on relevant events and discussions
Content Development
- Contribute to blogs, policy briefs, reports, and other written materials
- Support development of maps and knowledge resources
- Assist in communicating research findings to diverse audiences
Events & Operations
- Support event planning, coordination, and logistics
- Provide general support to the resilience team and other program areas
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as:
- Environmental Studies
- Climate Science
- Urban Planning
- Public Policy
- Economics or related disciplines
Skills & Competencies
- Strong writing and research skills
- Critical thinking and ability to work independently
- Interest in climate change, resilience, and environmental policy
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team environment
