Job Overview

The Program and Finance Compliance Systems Officer plays a critical role in strengthening Anera’s ability to deliver compliant, auditable, and well-coordinated donor-funded programs.

  • Salary Range: $55,022 – $58,210

Positioned within the Compliance Team, this role focuses on operationalizing compliance by improving systems, workflows, and documentation across Program and Finance functions.

You will collaborate closely with country offices, Finance teams, and compliance advisors to enhance risk management, ensure audit readiness, and reduce reliance on reactive processes.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Systems & Processes

  • Maintain and enhance compliance systems, workflows, and trackers across global and country offices
  • Support sanctions screening processes (e.g., Descartes Visual Compliance), including initial reviews and resolution coordination
  • Ensure all compliance documentation is standardized, organized, and audit-ready
  • Assist with donor and regulatory registrations in collaboration with Finance and Compliance teams

Reporting & Documentation Support

  • Manage reporting calendars and tools for donor and internal reporting
  • Conduct routine quality checks to identify gaps and risks early
  • Ensure alignment between narrative, financial, and compliance documentation across teams

Program–Finance Coordination

  • Act as a coordination bridge between Program and Finance teams
  • Support activity code setup in Sage Intacct and integration with Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Ensure compliance requirements are embedded into workflows without duplication
  • Escalate high-risk compliance issues to senior advisors when necessary

Capacity Building & Guidance

  • Deliver trainings, office hours, and guidance materials on compliance systems and procedures
  • Maintain a centralized repository of tools, templates, SOPs, and FAQs
  • Provide first-line support to country teams on systems and compliance standards

Continuous Improvement & Risk Prevention

  • Identify inefficiencies and recurring risks, proposing practical solutions
  • Strengthen organizational risk mitigation and audit preparedness
  • Support the shift toward proactive, standardized compliance practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience in grants management, compliance, program operations, or finance support
  • Experience working in donor-funded environments
  • Familiarity with donor compliance requirements (e.g., U.S. Government, UN, or similar)
  • Experience with sanctions or restricted party screening tools (preferred)
