The Communication and Collaboration Engineer Internship offers hands-on experience in supporting global communication systems, including video conferencing, cloud telephony, and collaboration platforms.

As part of the ITM team in New York, you will work in a dynamic, international environment, contributing to real-time global operations while building technical and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
Communication Systems Support
- Manage telephone requests and mobile device provisioning
- Support video conferencing services for global UNDP offices
- Monitor system performance and resolve live communication issues
Collaboration Tools & Platforms
- Provide technical support for Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Assist in scheduling and managing virtual conferences
- Train staff on collaboration tools and reduce recurring user errors
Technical Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor conferencing systems via cloud portals
- Apply updates and test firmware/software improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues proactively
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Develop internal documentation and knowledge base articles
- Support onboarding and training of local site teams
- Contribute to system integration and updates
Required Qualifications
Education
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate programme (Master’s or higher)
- Final year of a Bachelor’s degree
- Recent graduate (within 1 year)
- Enrolled in a postgraduate traineeship programme
Field of Study
- IT Engineering
- Computer Science
- Networking or related field
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, NAT, firewalls)
- Familiarity with video conferencing and cloud telephony systems
- Experience with Microsoft tools (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of collaboration platforms
- Basic scripting or web technologies (advantage)
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills (advantage)

- Remote stipend available depending on arrangement
- Interns must cover travel, visa, accommodation, and insurance costs
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
