This home-based consultancy offers an opportunity to contribute to women’s empowerment initiatives across the Gulf Cooperation Council region, particularly through the Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment.
Background to UN Women and Global Award
UN Women, dedicated to achieving gender equality and empowering women worldwide, operates the Regional Office for the Arab States (ROAS).
A key focus is expanding engagement in the Gulf Cooperation Council sub-region, including partnerships with Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Women.
The Global Award, administered by UN Women, recognizes impactful contributions in women’s empowerment across various sectors, awarding USD 100,000 to winners in four categories.
The consultancy supports the maintenance, updating, and enhancement of the award’s website, ensuring effective communication and outreach for the upcoming third round of applications, scheduled to open in March 2026, with winners announced in December 2026.
Responsibilities
Website Management and Enhancement
- Oversee the regular management and updates of the Global Award website
- Review and refine web pages, including design, structure, and supporting materials
- Ensure content remains accurate, current, and user-friendly
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track website performance through analytics
- Compile and analyze data to generate insights and reports
Visibility and Outreach
- Advise on strategies to boost online visibility of the Global Award initiatives
- Ensure alignment with UN Women branding standards and partner visibility guidelines
Additional Support
- Provide related technical support as needed to strengthen website functionality and outreach
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in web design, programming, communication, or related field OR
- First-level university degree with an additional two years of relevant experience
Experience
- Minimum of two years in website applications management (Sitecore or similar)
- Proficiency in website and graphic design software
- Experience in analyzing website and social media analytics
- Prior experience working with UN Women is desirable
