This home-based internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global sustainable development initiatives, focusing on digital content creation, social media management, and multimedia storytelling.

The internship duration is six months, with flexible remote work arrangements and reporting to the team in New York, USA.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media and Digital Content Management

  • Create engaging graphics, short videos, animations, and campaign assets for platforms like LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling social media content aligned with international days, events, and advocacy campaigns.
  • Monitor performance analytics to optimize outreach and engagement.

Communications Support

  • Draft compelling social media captions, web articles, and outreach materials.
  • Develop fact sheets, toolkits, and key messages for external audiences.
  • Support internal and external communication initiatives with clear, audience-specific content.

Video Content Production and Editing

  • Support the production and editing of videos for interviews, campaigns, and event highlights.
  • Prepare video assets using editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva.
  • Develop storyboards, captions, and subtitles for digital storytelling.

Multimedia and Visual Content Development

  • Design visual assets including infographics, social media graphics, flyers, and digital branding materials.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all digital outputs in line with UNDP branding standards.

Website and Digital Asset Support

  • Assist with website updates, news releases, and publication uploads.
  • Organize and maintain digital asset libraries, including photos and videos, with effective tagging.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, or related fields.
  • Or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree in these disciplines.
  • Recent graduates within one year of graduation are also eligible.

Experience

  • Proven experience in multimedia content creation for social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design, branding, motion graphics, and multimedia work.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools and web content management systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainable development, climate change, or energy sector communications is advantageous.

Languages

  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Fluency in additional UN languages such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Chinese is a plus.

Competencies and Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, and InDesign.
  • Experience with video editing and motion graphics.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrates integrity, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism.
