The Continuous Improvement Work Program (CIWP) Team plays a pivotal role in convening global experts and stakeholders to tackle complex challenges in the carbon market.
Through its work, the team:

- Strengthens transparency and robustness in global carbon markets
- Facilitates collaboration between voluntary and compliance markets
Role Overview
As CIWP Manager – Research, you will support the delivery of strategic and operational objectives within the CIWP Team. This is an early-to-mid career technical role focused on strengthening carbon credit integrity through research, analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.

- Contract Type: Full-time, 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract
- Salary: £54,000 – £57,000 GBP (adjusted for non-UK locations)

You will contribute to the development of evidence-based solutions, support technical workstreams, and play a key role in shaping outputs that influence global carbon market standards.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Technical Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research and technical analysis on carbon markets and carbon-crediting systems
- Support the development of evidence-based frameworks and recommendations
- Ensure outputs align with environmental integrity principles
Project & Workstream Management
- Manage analytical workstreams within assigned CIWPs
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of CIWP outputs
- Contribute to operational excellence across projects
Content Development & Review
- Draft, review, and refine technical documents, reports, and written inputs
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all outputs
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams and external experts
- Support convening activities and collaborative initiatives
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing across global stakeholders
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- Strong understanding of carbon markets and carbon-crediting mechanisms
- Knowledge of environmental integrity principles and climate frameworks
- Proven experience in research, analysis, or technical roles within climate or sustainability
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outputs
- Curious, detail-oriented, and able to learn quickly
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working with international stakeholders
- Familiarity with voluntary and compliance carbon markets
- Background in climate policy, environmental science, or related fields
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: £54,000 – £57,000 GBP
- Salary adjusted for candidates based outside the UK
