Role Overview

CIFOR-ICRAF is seeking a Consultant – GLF Knowledge and Convening Coordinator to support the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF)—the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on sustainable landscapes.

Launched in 2013, GLF connects governments, organizations, youth, and communities worldwide to drive action toward ecosystem restoration and sustainable development. The platform has engaged over 30,000 organizations, 1.4 million youth, and stakeholders across 185 countries, reaching billions globally.

This consultancy role will focus on coordinating knowledge-driven convenings, shaping strategic narratives, and strengthening partnerships to influence policy, finance, and practice aligned with GLF’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

1. Thought Leadership, Narrative Development & Knowledge Framing

  • Lead the development of strategic narratives positioning GLF across climate, biodiversity, and land use
  • Translate research, insights, and trends into compelling messaging for convenings and external engagement
  • Ensure alignment with GLF’s Theory of Change (ToC) and MELIA framework
  • Coordinate concept development and proposals with internal teams and program focal points
  • Identify emerging trends to inform organizational priorities and positioning
  • Contribute to management discussions with insights from knowledge and convening activities

2. Strategic Convening & Knowledge Integration

  • Design and deliver GLF flagship events, including agenda-setting and thematic framing
  • Integrate insights across programs such as Community & Action, Learning, and Sustainable Finance
  • Ensure convenings are inclusive, knowledge-driven, and multi-stakeholder in nature
  • Collaborate with Digital Communications teams to develop integrated engagement campaigns
  • Facilitate innovative formats that encourage collaboration and co-creation
  • Ensure clear outputs and actionable follow-ups from convenings

3. Policy, Finance & Practice Influence

  • Align convenings and outputs to influence global policy, finance, and practice
  • Support GLF’s positioning in international and regional policy dialogues
  • Collaborate with partnerships teams and regional coordinators to maximize impact
  • Identify strategic engagement opportunities to strengthen GLF’s global influence

4. Team Coordination & Delivery Oversight

  • Guide and coordinate the Knowledge Team to ensure effective delivery of GLF initiatives
  • Collaborate with the MELIA Officer to integrate monitoring, evaluation, and learning
  • Oversee workflows, timelines, and outputs aligned with strategic goals and resources

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing knowledge-led convenings (including digital and hybrid formats)
  • Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders (policy, research, civil society, youth, private sector, and communities)
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary teams and international projects
  • Expertise in translating complex scientific or Indigenous knowledge into accessible content
  • Experience working at the science-policy-practice interface
  • Familiarity with global frameworks such as SDGs and Rio Conventions (CBD, UNFCCC, UNCCD) is an advantage
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages (French, Spanish, Indonesian, German) are a plus

  • Duration: June 2026 – May 2027 (12 months)
