Role Overview

The Europe Public Funding Coordinator will support the Europe Public Funding and Partnerships (PFP) team in strengthening relationships with European governments and public funding institutions.

Location: Europe (TNC-Europe – Berlin, Brussels, Geneva, London, Zagreb hubs)

This role is central to mobilizing and managing funding that drives high-impact climate and biodiversity initiatives. You will work across multiple countries and teams, contributing to donor engagement, proposal development, and partnership coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Public Funding & Partnership Support

  • Support engagement strategies with European governments, embassies, and public finance institutions
  • Assist in strengthening relationships with key donors and stakeholders

Proposal Development & Coordination

  • Support the development of high-quality funding proposals
  • Provide input on project design, budgets, compliance, and donor requirements
  • Coordinate internal teams to align proposals with donor priorities

Donor Research & Analysis

  • Conduct research on funding opportunities and donor strategies
  • Contribute to internal learning by capturing best practices and insights

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare briefings, coordinate meetings, and develop donor-facing materials
  • Support stakeholder mapping and relationship management

Systems & Process Support

  • Maintain accurate records and tracking systems
  • Improve templates, reporting tools, and coordination processes across teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in public funding, donor engagement, grants, or partnerships
  • Understanding of European public funding systems (e.g., EU, UK, Germany, France, Norway)
  • Experience supporting funding proposals and navigating donor requirements
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and projects
  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are an advantage)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in environmental policy, sustainability, or fundraising
  • Project management experience or certification
  • Knowledge of trends in climate and development finance
  • Experience working across international or matrixed teams
