Providing financial support to public-benefit organisations working directly to reduce methane emissions.

Serving as a trusted partner and knowledge hub, offering expertise on methane mitigation strategies, data sharing, and field-building initiatives.

Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, with a Stichting registered in the Netherlands, GMH operates globally with team members located across six continents.

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Pipeline & Donor Strategy plays a critical role in developing and advancing a strategically prioritised donor pipeline that supports the organisation’s ambitious fundraising goals.

Contract Type: Full-Time (40 Hours per Week)
Travel Requirement: Approximately 15% International Travel

Reporting to the Director of Development & Impact, the successful candidate will lead pipeline strategy and day-to-day execution while partnering on donor prioritisation and overall fundraising direction. The role works closely with the Donor Engagement Associate, Development Operations Manager, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure donor engagement is coordinated, strategic, and effective.

This position is ideal for an experienced fundraising professional with strong relationship management skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and a passion for advancing climate solutions through philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline and Portfolio Management

The Senior Manager will lead the development and management of a robust donor pipeline and portfolio strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading pipeline development in partnership with the Director of Development & Impact.
  • Establishing regular pipeline review processes and defining next steps for donors and prospects.
  • Managing donor and prospect portfolios across various engagement stages.
  • Applying disciplined moves management practices to advance donor relationships.
  • Identifying strategic engagement opportunities and coordinating internal participation.
  • Ensuring accurate and consistent CRM usage for tracking donor interactions and activities.
  • Monitoring pipeline health, stage progression, and fundraising performance.
  • Managing relationships across individual donors, foundations, and philanthropic advisors.

Prospect Research and Donor Strategy

The role will oversee prospect identification and donor intelligence activities to strengthen fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting in-depth prospect research and qualification.
  • Monitoring philanthropic trends, funding priorities, and sector developments.
  • Analysing donor giving patterns and philanthropic interests.
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen engagement with existing donors.
  • Expanding and diversifying the organisation’s international donor base.
  • Continuously refining donor engagement strategies based on emerging insights.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship

The Senior Manager will support and strengthen donor relationships through tailored engagement and stewardship activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating preparation for donor meetings, briefings, and site visits.
  • Developing compelling donor briefing materials for senior leadership.
  • Engaging directly with donors and prospects when appropriate.
  • Designing and implementing customised stewardship strategies.
  • Drafting donor correspondence, updates, and communications on behalf of leadership.

Strategic Events and Convenings

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and delivery of strategic engagement opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing donor-focused events and convenings.
  • Supporting the coordination of the Funder Advisory Council.
  • Engaging volunteers and stakeholders to support donor strategy initiatives.
  • Creating opportunities to strengthen donor relationships through meaningful interactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

The role requires extensive collaboration across departments to align fundraising efforts with organisational priorities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with programme, communications, and leadership teams.
  • Identifying opportunities to connect donors with organisational impact.
  • Promoting a culture of philanthropy throughout the organisation.
  • Supporting additional fundraising and development initiatives as required.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, International Development, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Professional Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • At least 7 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, prospect research, development strategy, or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing donor pipelines and advancing high-value donor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of moves management and donor lifecycle strategies.
  • Experience working within complex or matrixed organisations.
  • Demonstrated success supporting senior executives and managing confidential matters.
  • Experience in climate, environmental, philanthropic, or international development sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within global organisations and multicultural teams is highly desirable.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple time zones.
