Position Overview

Partners for a New Economy is seeking an experienced and proactive Partnership Development Lead to cover a period of temporary leave within the organization.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland (Location-flexible contract arrangements available)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3–6 Months, with possibility of extension)

This is a strategic fundraising and relationship management role responsible for maintaining momentum on P4NE’s fundraising strategy, expanding the organization’s network of funding partners, and helping secure the resources needed to support the growing new economy movement.

Working closely with the Director and wider team, the successful candidate will identify and cultivate new funding opportunities, manage relationships with existing and prospective funders, coordinate donor engagement activities, and contribute to the development of high-value funding proposals and reports.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with leading philanthropic organizations, foundations, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals committed to systems change and sustainable economic transformation.

Key Objectives

The successful candidate will contribute to achieving ambitious fundraising goals, including:

  • Supporting organizational income growth from approximately USD 4 million annually in 2025 to USD 10 million annually by 2030.
  • Assisting in the development and submission of six- and seven-figure funding proposals.
  • Supporting stewardship and reporting activities for existing funding partners.
  • Strengthening organizational knowledge of philanthropic trends and opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate and effective donor relationship management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Philanthropy Research and Prospect Development

  • Identify prospective funding partners aligned with P4NE’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Conduct in-depth research on trusts, foundations, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and emerging philanthropic funders.
  • Build and maintain a robust fundraising pipeline to support long-term income growth.
  • Monitor prospect engagement and relationship-building activities.
  • Track fundraising opportunities and funding trends across the philanthropic sector.

Fundraising and Proposal Development

  • Collaborate with the Director to develop compelling funding proposals and grant applications.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions for major philanthropic funders.
  • Ensure all applications and reports are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Support the development of fundraising strategies and partnership opportunities.
  • Produce detailed funder briefings and background research to inform engagement activities.

Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management

  • Support the management and cultivation of relationships with existing and prospective funding partners.
  • Maintain stewardship plans and monitor supporter engagement throughout the donor journey.
  • Coordinate communications with funders to ensure strong relationship management.
  • Ensure donor records and interactions are accurately documented within the CRM system.
  • Assist with reporting requirements and ongoing funder engagement activities.

Events and Donor Engagement

  • Lead the planning and delivery of donor cultivation events and engagement activities.
  • Coordinate event logistics, communications, registrations, and follow-up activities.
  • Support annual funder learning sessions and broader engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the delivery of funder exchange events designed to strengthen collaboration within the new economy funding community.
  • Coordinate online salons and virtual events for foundations and prospective supporters.
  • Maintain accurate event records and participant engagement data within Beacon CRM.

CRM and Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within P4NE’s Beacon CRM system.
  • Track donor interactions, proposal submissions, reporting deadlines, and stewardship activities.
  • Ensure data integrity and support effective fundraising reporting and analysis.
  • Monitor fundraising progress against organizational targets.

Required Experience

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or partnership development.
  • Strong track record of securing funding from trusts, foundations, family offices, or high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience cultivating and securing six-figure donations and grants.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in a relevant fundraising or development role.
  • Experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong proposal writing and grant application development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new funding opportunities.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and donor databases.

Desired Experience

Candidates with the following experience will be highly regarded:

  • Knowledge of the new economy, systems change, or economic transformation sectors.
  • Experience working with institutional funders and international donors.
  • Experience operating within international nonprofit or philanthropic environments.
  • Familiarity with donor stewardship strategies and relationship management best practices.
