About the Sourcing Hub

The Sourcing Hub is a strategic initiative that combines risk assessments, benchmarking frameworks, sustainability intelligence, and digital tools to help organizations make informed sourcing decisions.

The platform supports Preferred by Nature’s advisory services, certification activities, projects, and external stakeholders by providing credible, practical, and scalable sustainability information.

As Sourcing Hub Director, you will shape the strategic vision, development roadmap, governance structure, and long-term growth of this critical sustainability platform.

Role Overview

The Sourcing Hub Director will lead the strategic development and operational delivery of the Sourcing Hub while collaborating with teams across the organization and external partners.

You will oversee risk assessment methodologies, benchmarking frameworks, platform development initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities, fundraising efforts, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the platform remains a trusted resource for responsible sourcing and sustainability decision-making.

This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, technical understanding, stakeholder management, and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Governance

  • Define and lead the strategic direction of the Sourcing Hub.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the platform’s business plan and roadmap.
  • Establish governance structures, decision-making processes, and operational frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment between organizational priorities and platform development activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the platform’s value and impact.

Risk Assessment and Benchmarking Development

  • Coordinate the development of sustainability risk assessments and benchmarking frameworks.
  • Ensure methodologies remain robust, credible, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Support the creation of practical tools that enhance responsible sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards across risk and benchmarking outputs.

Digital Platform Development

  • Work closely with the Data and Technology team to drive platform development.
  • Lead continuous improvements to platform functionality, usability, and scalability.
  • Define requirements and priorities for future platform enhancements.
  • Support the development of innovative digital solutions that strengthen sustainability services.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate activities across Advisory, Certification, Projects, Strategy, and Technology teams.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between departments.
  • Ensure consistent integration of the Sourcing Hub into organizational workflows and services.
  • Build strong internal partnerships to maximize platform adoption and impact.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Manage and support a small team responsible for delivering key Sourcing Hub activities.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance support.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performing, and results-oriented team culture.
  • Ensure effective coordination and delivery of assigned initiatives.

Fundraising and External Engagement

  • Support fundraising activities and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to proposal development and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent the Sourcing Hub in external forums and stakeholder engagements.
  • Strengthen the platform’s visibility and reputation within the sustainability sector.

Your First Year at Preferred by Nature

Within Three Months

You will:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Preferred by Nature’s services, structure, and strategic priorities.
  • Establish governance structures and operational processes for the Sourcing Hub.
  • Create a Sourcing Hub reference group and clarify decision-making responsibilities.
  • Review existing risk assessments and platform capabilities.
  • Develop a prioritized six-to-twelve-month roadmap with clear objectives and ownership.

Within Six Months

You will:

  • Deliver priority risk assessment outputs that support organizational services.
  • Implement standardized methodologies and quality assurance processes.
  • Improve consistency and usability across benchmarking and risk assessment activities.
  • Develop and secure internal alignment around the blueprint for the next-generation Sourcing Hub platform.

Within One Year

You will:

  • Launch and oversee development of the new Sourcing Hub platform alongside external development partners.
  • Expand platform coverage across countries, commodities, and sustainability benchmarks.
  • Integrate the platform into advisory, certification, and project workflows.
  • Support fundraising initiatives and strengthen external recognition of the Sourcing Hub as a leading sustainability intelligence platform.
  • Drive long-term value creation through enhanced platform adoption and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

Education

Candidates should possess higher education qualifications in one or more of the following fields:

  • Sustainability
  • Environmental Governance
  • International Development
  • Economics
  • Law
  • Data Analysis
  • Related disciplines

Required Experience

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience working within sustainability-related fields.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, benchmarking systems, certification schemes, or regulatory analysis.
  • Strong experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting or managing digital platforms, data-driven tools, or product development initiatives.
  • Strong strategic planning and implementation capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

Preferred Qualifications
