We are seeking a highly commercial, strategic, and dynamic Marketing & Communications leader to join our team as a Fractional Marketing & Communications Lead on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our commercial positioning, enhance client engagement, and elevate our marketing and communications function during a critical period of growth.
About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced B2B marketing professional who excels at combining strategic vision with hands-on execution. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the organisation’s Marketing & Communications strategy, ensuring every initiative directly supports commercial objectives and revenue growth.
You will provide leadership and strategic guidance to a small, agile in-house team while collaborating across multiple departments to deliver impactful campaigns, strengthen market positioning, and enhance the overall client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning
- Analyse and enhance E Co.’s product offerings, market positioning, and commercial strategy.
- Translate complex consultancy business models into targeted, revenue-generating marketing initiatives.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with organisational growth objectives.
Client Experience & Customer Journey
- Champion customer experience improvements across all touchpoints.
- Build upon existing client journey mapping initiatives.
- Ensure communications and campaigns are highly targeted, relevant, and engaging.
Inbound Marketing & Digital Visibility
- Guide the team in optimising website performance and digital assets to drive inbound business opportunities.
- Develop and implement robust SEO and discoverability strategies.
- Improve lead generation and conversion through strategic digital marketing initiatives.
Thought Leadership & Brand Development
- Lead the development of high-impact thought leadership programmes.
- Coordinate multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns across Consulting, Bid, and HR teams.
- Strengthen brand reputation through strategic communications and high-quality content.
Business Development Support
- Serve as a strategic marketing advisor to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team.
- Contribute to the development and completion of Marketing Plans for 2026–2027.
- Align marketing initiatives with business development priorities and revenue targets.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor, coach, and guide the Marketing & Communications team.
- Lead weekly team meetings, one-to-one sessions, and strategic planning discussions.
- Balance high-level strategic leadership with practical support to ensure successful campaign delivery.
- Foster collaboration across departments within a globally distributed workforce.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 8 years of proven B2B marketing experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership, Head of Marketing, Marketing Director, or Fractional CMO capacity.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams in multicultural and international environments.
- Strong expertise in commercial strategy, market positioning, and revenue-focused marketing.
- Proven ability to translate complex business models into effective marketing strategies.
- Experience leading sophisticated cross-channel marketing campaigns in multinational organisations.

Compensation & Benefits
The gross annual salary for this full-time role ranges between £60,000 and £85,000, which will be prorated according to the agreed working schedule.
Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, competencies, internal equity, and alignment with E Co.’s established grading structure.
