Position Overview
CARE International UK is seeking experienced freelancers, consultants, and consulting firms to join its roster of Bid Development and Proposal Writing Consultants.

This consultancy opportunity offers professionals the chance to contribute to the development of high-quality, donor-compliant funding proposals and concept notes that support impactful international development and humanitarian programs.
Selected consultants will be added to a consultant roster and engaged on an as-needed basis to support business development efforts across a range of institutional, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities.
Please note that inclusion on the consultant roster does not guarantee future assignments but provides opportunities to be considered for upcoming proposal development projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Successful applicants should demonstrate:
Professional Experience
- Proven experience in proposal writing and bid development within the international development or humanitarian sectors.
- Strong track record of securing institutional, foundation, corporate, or commercial funding.
- Experience supporting complex donor-funded project design and resource mobilization initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop successful funding proposals across a variety of sectors and thematic areas.
Technical Skills
- Excellent proposal writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
- Ability to translate technical information into compelling donor narratives.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Donor Knowledge
Experience working with one or more of the following donor groups is highly desirable:
- UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
- Institutional donors
- Private foundations
- Corporate donors
- Multilateral funding agencies
- International development funding mechanisms
Working Style
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Capacity to deliver high-quality outputs within tight timeframes.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
