Available Internship Opportunities
1. Intern – Monitoring & Evaluation for the Global Project “Good Employment for Socially Just Change”
Location: Berlin
Internship Period: 01 August 2026 – 31 January 2027
The “Invest for Jobs” initiative seeks to remove investment barriers in African partner countries and promote sustainable investments that create quality employment opportunities.
Interns will support monitoring and evaluation activities by helping maintain central monitoring systems, conducting data analysis, measuring project impact, supporting reporting processes, and contributing to employment-effect assessments.

2. Intern – Access to Climate Finance (Partnering for Readiness)
Location: Bonn
Internship Period: 01 September 2026 – 28 February 2027
The Partnering for Readiness initiative helps partner countries strengthen their capacity to access international climate finance and implement climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Interns will contribute to research, knowledge management, workshop preparation, communication activities, and climate finance readiness initiatives related to institutions such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Ideal Background

3. Intern – Forest Action Component, International Biodiversity and Forest Policy Sector Project
Location: Eschborn
Internship Period: 01 September 2026 – 28 February 2027
This internship supports GIZ’s work on international forest policy, biodiversity conservation, climate protection, and sustainable forest financing.
Interns will assist with research, knowledge management, event organization, policy analysis, publications, newsletters, and technical advisory work supporting international forest initiatives and partnerships.

Internship Period: 01 September 2026 – 28 February 2027
The Berlin Representative Office serves as GIZ’s interface with political stakeholders, providing strategic analysis of political developments and supporting public engagement activities.
Interns gain firsthand exposure to political processes, policy monitoring, event management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications.

General Requirements
Applicants should generally meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at a university or higher education institution; or
- Graduated no more than six months before the internship start date
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in international cooperation and sustainable development
Additional language skills, particularly French or Spanish, are considered advantageous for many positions.
