Leadership Opportunities Available
1. Director of Partnerships
The Director of Partnerships will lead Nura’s fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnership efforts.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role will help drive Nura’s ambitious goal of mobilizing more than $100 million in aligned funding while strengthening fundraising capabilities across the wider climate communications ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and execute fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
- Build systems and capabilities to support long-term fundraising growth.
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities and donor relationships.
- Support senior leaders and partners in achieving fundraising goals.
Donor Engagement and Stewardship
- Manage donor prospecting, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship processes.
- Develop compelling funding proposals, presentations, and engagement materials.
- Coordinate donor onboarding and relationship management activities.
- Strengthen partnerships with philanthropic institutions and funding networks.
Reporting and Strategic Storytelling
- Develop donor reports, presentations, and impact communications.
- Build a library of case studies, success stories, and funding materials.
- Translate complex strategies into compelling donor-facing narratives.
- Showcase impact and opportunities across Nura’s global network.
Ecosystem Development
- Support fundraising capacity-building among grantees and partners.
- Facilitate donor introductions and partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate across the climate communications ecosystem to strengthen resource mobilization efforts.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will have:
- At least 10 years of senior fundraising or philanthropic leadership experience.
- Proven success securing seven- and eight-figure grants and philanthropic investments.
- Experience managing complex fundraising systems and donor portfolios.
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and storytelling skills.
- Strong experience developing fundraising capacity within teams and partner organizations.
- Deep commitment to climate action, social justice, and systems change.
2. Managing Director
The Managing Director will serve as Nura’s operational leader, working closely with the Executive Director and Chief Strategy and Impact Officer to scale the organization’s systems, culture, and global impact.
This role is responsible for building the infrastructure, processes, and operational excellence needed to support Nura’s ambitious growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Design and implement systems and processes that enable organizational growth.
- Lead operational planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Coordinate closely with Meliore’s Finance, Legal, Grants, IT, MEL, and People teams.
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery across all operational functions.
Strategic Growth and Change Management
- Build operational capabilities that support innovation and scalability.
- Lead organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support global expansion and network development.
- Create systems that respond effectively to evolving opportunities and challenges.
Governance and Accountability
- Strengthen governance structures and advisory mechanisms.
- Collaborate with leadership teams on reporting, monitoring, and accountability frameworks.
- Support ecosystem learning and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Maintain strong alignment between strategy, operations, and impact.
Culture and Team Development
- Build and nurture a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
