About the Mangrove Breakthrough
The Mangrove Breakthrough is a global movement dedicated to protecting, restoring, and financing mangrove ecosystems worldwide.
Its ambitious goal is to mobilize USD 4 billion to protect and restore 15 million hectares of mangroves by 2030 through science-based decision-making, innovative financing mechanisms, and investment in local leadership.
At the center of the initiative is the Mangrove Catalytic Facility (MCF), which aims to provide USD 50–70 million in catalytic finance to unlock large-scale investment in mangrove conservation and restoration projects.
Position Overview
The Mangrove Breakthrough Intern will provide cross-functional support across the initiative’s Finance, Pipeline, Policy, Communications, and Outreach workstreams.

Salary: USD 400–600 per month (based on qualifications and experience)

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting global climate and conservation initiatives while working with governments, investors, NGOs, and international partners.
The successful candidate will contribute to project pipeline management, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications development, and strategic initiatives supporting major international climate events including Climate Week NYC, the IUCN Congress, and COP31.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Management Support
- Assist with managing and coordinating the project pipeline.
- Consolidate project KPIs and monitor progress.
- Support project onboarding processes.
- Ensure project information remains updated within the Restor platform.
- Help improve pipeline visibility and transaction readiness.
Finance Strategy Support
- Support the Finance Lead in implementing country-level finance strategies.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement activities.
- Coordinate finance-related events and meetings.
- Help organize materials and information for strategic discussions.
Event Coordination
- Support planning and logistics for national and global events.
- Assist with investor meetings and stakeholder workshops.
- Contribute to preparations for major international climate forums, including:
- Climate Week NYC
- IUCN Congress
- COP31
- Coordinate event materials and participant communications.
Communications and Outreach
- Develop outreach and engagement materials for:
- Governments
- Financial institutions
- NGOs
- Civil society organizations
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and stakeholder updates.
- Translate complex technical information into accessible content.
Operational and Strategic Support
- Provide ad-hoc support to team leads across multiple workstreams.
- Assist with emerging priorities and special projects.
- Support day-to-day operations to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives as required.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and passionate about climate action, sustainable finance, and international development.
You should be comfortable working in a fully remote environment, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across different regions and time zones.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
Applicants should be current students or recent graduates pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

- Experience assisting with workshops, conferences, or stakeholder events.
- Interest in climate finance, biodiversity conservation, and nature-based solutions.
Working Arrangements
- Fully remote position with global collaboration opportunities.
- Candidates must provide and maintain their own ICT equipment.
- Access to collaborative office space may be available in some locations.
- Occasional international travel may be required.
- Approved travel and work-related expenses will be covered or reimbursed according to organizational policies.
- Contracts outside Chile will be managed through the Deel platform.
