Internship Programme Overview

UNICEF’s GSSC is offering multiple internship opportunities for students and recent graduates seeking practical experience in an international and multicultural work environment.

The internship programme provides participants with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to UNICEF’s global operations.

Available Internship Opportunities

Communication Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting visual design projects including presentations, flyers, and communication materials.
  • Writing articles for the GSSC internal SharePoint platform.
  • Providing SharePoint administration support.
  • Supporting internal communication campaigns.
  • Assisting staff engagement initiatives.
  • Supporting production of the GSSC podcast, “Talking GSSC.”
  • Providing general administrative support to the communications team.

Data & Analytics Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with complex datasets and analytical projects.
  • Cleaning, preparing, and analyzing data.
  • Developing data-driven solutions to business challenges.
  • Creating dashboards and visual reports.
  • Preparing presentations, reports, and analytical briefs.
  • Supporting ongoing data projects and business intelligence initiatives.

Communications & Technical Writing Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and distributing newsletters.
  • Gathering and organizing information.
  • Creating presentations and communication materials.
  • Supporting portfolio quality and stabilization activities.
  • Assisting with technical documentation and content development.

People & Culture Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting HR administration projects.
  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and talent development activities.
  • Managing and analyzing HR data.
  • Preparing project documentation and reports.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting with training logistics and coordination.
  • Conducting quality checks and testing activities.

Learning & Development Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting online learning platform management.
  • Assisting with learning management system migrations.
  • Supporting development and deployment of e-learning content.
  • Assisting with virtual training programmes delivered through Teams and Zoom.
  • Participating in learning and development projects aligned with personal interests and expertise.

Administrative (HR Off-Boarding) Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Digitizing beneficiary forms and HR documentation.
  • Performing accurate data entry and validation.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Maintaining productivity and documentation standards.

Business Administration Intern

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting reporting and data analysis activities.
  • Assisting with HR administrative tasks.
  • Coordinating recruitment-related activities.
  • Preparing presentations and reports.
  • Supporting internal communication activities.

Travel Administration Intern

Eligibility Requirements

Education

Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme, OR
  • Have graduated within the last two years.

Internship Conditions

Working Arrangement

Financial and Administrative Requirements

Interns are responsible for:

  • Travel expenses to and from Hungary
  • Accommodation and living expenses
  • Obtaining and maintaining medical insurance coverage
  • Securing any necessary visas or residence permits

Interns may take up to 2.5 days of leave per month during the internship period.
