Rainforest Trust UK is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through its next phase of growth under its 2026–2030 strategic plan.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an accomplished executive with strong fundraising expertise, strategic vision, and a passion for environmental conservation. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team, work closely with the Board of Trustees, and collaborate with the global Rainforest Trust leadership in the United States.
The CEO will focus on expanding fundraising capacity, strengthening organizational performance, and positioning Rainforest Trust UK as a leading philanthropic partner within the global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the delivery of Rainforest Trust UK’s 2026–2030 strategic plan.
- Align UK priorities with global conservation objectives.
- Translate strategic goals into measurable action plans and performance targets.
- Drive sustainable organizational growth and impact.
Fundraising and External Engagement
- Serve as the primary ambassador for Rainforest Trust UK.
- Build and strengthen relationships with major donors and philanthropic networks.
- Personally manage a portfolio of high-value donor relationships.
- Increase the organization’s visibility across the UK and internationally.
Financial Leadership
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and annual audits.
- Ensure strong financial governance and effective resource management.
- Drive sustainable income growth to maximize conservation impact.
Governance and Board Relations
- Work closely with the Board of Trustees.
- Ensure compliance with UK charity regulations and governance standards.
- Provide regular reports on organizational performance, finances, and risk management.
- Support effective Board decision-making.
Global Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with the global Rainforest Trust leadership team.
- Align UK fundraising priorities with international conservation programmes.
- Act as a bridge between UK donors and global conservation initiatives.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Ensure efficient organizational structures and effective use of resources.

- Significant leadership experience within the charity, nonprofit, or fundraising sector.
- A proven track record of securing major gifts and managing high-value donor relationships.
- Experience leading organizations or teams through growth and organizational change.

- Experience working with Boards of Trustees and UK charity governance.
