About the Internship
Mercy Corps is seeking a Compliance Due Diligence Intern to join its Compliance, Governance and Risk Department in Edinburgh.
Job Title: Compliance Due Diligence Intern

Contract Duration: 2–3 Months (depending on availability)
Working Hours: Flexible, minimum 20 hours per week (up to 4 days per week)
Salary: £13.45 per hour (Real Living Wage – UK, excluding London)

This paid internship provides an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates interested in compliance, governance, law, business, and humanitarian operations to gain practical experience within a globally recognized international NGO.
The successful intern will support donor due diligence processes, improve organizational compliance systems, and help develop more efficient approaches to managing compliance documentation, including exploring AI-enabled automation opportunities.
What You Will Do
As a Compliance Due Diligence Intern, you will:
- Consolidate donor due diligence documentation.
- Review and update standard due diligence responses.
- Coordinate with multiple Mercy Corps departments to gather updated information.
- Develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for donor due diligence.
- Explore AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities to improve compliance processes.
- Help establish a centralized repository for completed due diligence exercises.
- Support compliance activities related to organizational rebranding initiatives.
- Participate in meetings with colleagues across multiple countries and departments.
