Since its founding in 2023, Greenlight America has supported volunteers and communities working to advance utility-scale clean energy projects across the United States.

Role Overview

Greenlight America is seeking a talented Communications Senior Associate to support its communications and campaign work.

This role is ideal for a skilled writer and researcher who can produce high-quality content under deadlines, quickly understand complex topics and digital tools, and contribute creative ideas to clean energy campaigns.

The successful candidate will support both individual clean energy campaigns and organization-wide communications priorities. The position is fully remote with occasional travel and reports to the Senior Communications and Digital Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Social Listening and Research

The Communications Senior Associate will:

  • Produce social listening reports at the start of Greenlight clean energy campaigns.
  • Review local news coverage and social media activity.
  • Assess public sentiment around proposed projects, ordinances and clean energy technologies.
  • Help identify messaging priorities and communications strategies for campaigns.

Create Campaign Communications Materials

The successful candidate will work closely with the communications and campaigns teams to develop messaging and content strategies.

Materials may include:

  • Talking points.
  • Fact sheets.
  • Letters to the editor.
  • Opinion pieces.
  • Digital content.
  • Social media posts.
  • One-pagers.
  • Presentations.

Support Organization-Wide Communications

The role will also involve researching and drafting:

  • Volunteer guides.
  • Educational resources.
  • Evergreen messaging materials.
  • Other communications resources supporting Greenlight America’s work.

Experience and Qualifications

Greenlight America is particularly interested in candidates with:

  • At least one year of experience developing content and/or messaging under deadlines.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • A passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
  • The ability to quickly understand complex topics.
  • Strong creativity and willingness to test new ideas.
  • Good project management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Salary and Benefits

The annual base salary for this position is $60,000–$85,000.
