The role will support The Nature Conservancy’s conservation strategy in Europe and work closely with conservation and policy teams across the region, as well as a global community of freshwater nature-based solutions practitioners.
The successful candidate will serve as an important point of contact between the Resilient Watersheds Programme and external partners developing and delivering projects on the ground.

Key Responsibilities
Manage Watershed and Nature-Based Solutions Projects
The successful candidate will coordinate multiple watershed-scale nature-based solutions projects and help ensure the successful delivery of agreed activities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and advancing conservation and watershed projects across Europe.
- Coordinating The Nature Conservancy’s involvement across multiple projects.
- Establishing project timelines and supporting the delivery of agreed activities.
- Tracking project performance and outcomes.
- Supporting reporting against organizational objectives and grant agreement requirements.
Build and Maintain Partnerships
The Project Manager will work closely with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
This will include:
- Aligning organizational expertise, resources and networks with partner needs.
- Building and maintaining relationships with project partners.
- Working with conservation and policy teams across Europe.
- Coordinating with global freshwater and nature-based solutions practitioners.
- Engaging with stakeholders across different sectors and disciplines.
Support Programme Development
The role will also contribute expertise and insights to support the development of:
- Programme strategies.
- Project plans.
- Donor engagement initiatives.
- Products and materials for external stakeholders.
- Engagement with businesses and policymakers.
The successful candidate will help strengthen the impact and reach of the Resilient Watersheds Programme in Europe.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in natural resource management or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience building relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
- Experience working independently and managing tasks against established timelines.
- Strong written, spoken and graphical communication skills in English.
- Experience using common software applications, including Word, Excel and web-based tools.
- Experience providing training.
- A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
The Nature Conservancy is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Multilingual skills, especially French and Spanish.
- Multicultural or cross-cultural experience.
- Approximately three to five years of experience in water and land management practice or policy.
- Familiarity with the principles of nature-based solutions.
- Knowledge of ecological watershed management principles.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation.
- Understanding of water management.
- Knowledge of environmental economics.
