About the Senior Accountant Role
HiddenLayer is seeking a Senior Accountant to help build a scalable, technology-driven finance function that supports the company’s continued growth.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will have broad exposure across accounting, finance, systems, and business operations. The role is suited to an accounting professional who can manage day-to-day accounting responsibilities while also identifying ways that technology, automation, and AI can improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly financial close by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Own accounts payable and vendor payment processing, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
- Assist with customer billing and accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections follow-up, and cash application.
- Partner with finance leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and other financial planning activities.
- Support daily accounting operations while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to automate accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency using technology, AI, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Success, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- Support external audits, compliance activities, and special projects as the company continues to scale.
Requirements
Candidates for the Senior Accountant position should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3–5+ years of finance or accounting experience.
- A CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national/regional public accounting firm is highly valued.
- Experience working in a SaaS, software, or high-growth technology company is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience supporting month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Interest in learning new technologies and using AI and automation to improve finance processes.
Experience with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Salesforce, Maxio, or similar cloud-based financial systems will be an advantage.
