About the Head of Finance Role
Zencore is seeking a Head of Finance to help scale the company’s core finance and accounting function as it grows into a larger professional services platform.
The successful candidate will own foundational financial operations and reporting while working closely with executive leadership on post-close integration, mergers and acquisitions, and board-level reporting.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a finance professional who wants to help build a high-growth platform from early scale through a potential successful exit.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Own company-wide financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes with audit-quality standards.
- Establish and enhance internal controls, policies and procedures appropriate for a private equity-backed environment.
- Prepare board-level financial packages, KPIs and investor reporting.
- Build and improve reporting templates and dashboards covering profitability, utilization and cash flow.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, capital allocation and operational decision-making.
M&A and Post-Merger Integration
- Lead the financial aspects of post-merger integration.
- Support systems consolidation, reporting alignment and process standardization following acquisitions.
- Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting and integration planning.
- Coordinate with Superstep Capital on performance reporting, value creation initiatives and other financial priorities.
Financial Systems and ERP
- Lead or support ERP implementation and optimization.
- Develop scalable financial systems and processes suitable for a growing professional services organization.
- Drive financial systems transformation and improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
Audit and Controls
- Own external audit processes.
- Manage relationships with auditors and financial advisors.
- Maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures.
Contracts and Legal Coordination
- Own the contract lifecycle across client and vendor agreements.
- Support drafting, redlining and negotiation of MSAs, SOWs, NDAs and renewals.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on material contractual terms.
- Maintain a centralized contract repository.
- Support management of the legal function where required.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have:
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- Required audit experience.
- CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with ERP implementation and financial systems transformation.
- Experience supporting M&A transactions and post-close integration.
- Experience preparing board or investor reporting.
- Strong communication skills and sound professional judgment.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally.
Preferred Experience
The following experience is strongly preferred:
- Working in a private equity-backed organization.
- Professional services industry experience.
- Managing or supporting a legal function.
- Experience building finance functions within a high-growth environment.
