FlyFofa Aviation Training, in partnership with the National Skills Fund and the Department of Higher Education and Training, is excited to announce full-funded bursaries for Gauteng youth interested in pursuing careers in aviation.
Closing Date: 26 January 2025. No late applications will be accepted.
The bursaries cover accommodation and a monthly stipend for the following programs:
- Advanced Pilot Training
- Cabin Crew Training
- Drone Pilot Certificate
- Private Pilot License to Commercial Pilot License

1. Advanced Pilot Training
Duration: 24 months (full-time training)
Overview:
This program includes hour building for 300 hours to increase the total flying hours of commercial pilot students, enhancing their employment opportunities in the aviation sector.
Entry Requirements:
- South African citizen
- Age: not older than 25 years
- Residing in Gauteng Province
- Valid Commercial Pilot License
- Valid Medical Certificate

2. Cabin Crew Training
Duration: 12 weeks (full-time training)
Overview:
Training includes theoretical, practical, and examination preparation to obtain a Cabin Crew License, allowing employment with local and international airlines.
Entry Requirements:
- South African citizen
- Age: 18 to 23 years
- Residing in Gauteng Province
- Completed Grade 12
- Level 5 in English (and willing to undergo an Aviation Medical Examination)
- Minimum height of 1.6m

3. Drone Pilot Certificate
Duration: 12 weeks (full-time training)
Overview:
Comprehensive training covering drone regulations, safe flying practices, and hands-on experience to earn a Remote Pilot Certificate.

- South African citizen
- Age: 18 to 23 years
- Residing in Gauteng Province
- Completed Grade 12
- Level 5 in English, Level 4 in Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy

4. Private Pilot License to Commercial Pilot License
Duration: 24 months (full-time training)
Overview:
Training includes obtaining a Private Pilot License, Night Rating, Hour Building, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot License.
Entry Requirements:
- South African citizen
- Age: 17 to 23 years
- Residing in Gauteng Province
- Completed Grade 12
- Level 5 in English and Mathematics (Physical Science is advantageous)
- Class II Aviation Medical eligibility
