HR Administrative Support Specialist

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive end-to-end administrative support across the HR value chain. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR team to ensure smooth operations, compliance, and effective delivery of HR services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in short-term planning and complete tasks according to work plans developed in collaboration with the immediate line manager.
  • Provide administrative support across various HR disciplines, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of HR functions.
  • Perform administrative work independently, following established HR practices, processes, and compliance with the Bank’s standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Evaluate and address HR queries, escalate complex issues when necessary to the appropriate line manager or internal HR professional.
  • Maintain an accurate HR information/records management system, ensuring all data is up-to-date and complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide management information as required for effective reporting to the line manager/team leader.
  • Plan and execute operational budgets in consultation with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the SARB’s budgetary deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal HR teams, client departments, and external stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Proactively develop HR knowledge and contribute to process improvements in daily tasks and methods.
  • Support project teams on ad-hoc tasks and projects when required.
  • Evaluate personal performance against set criteria and collaborate with the immediate line manager to identify and address task-specific learning needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of an HR Post Matric Certification (NQF 5) or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in HR administration.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proactive and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of HR legislation, governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR planning, quality assurance, and information management.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Focused on continuous improvement and learning.

  • Strong service orientation with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
