Human Resources Development Leader: Modikwa Platinum Mine

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Human Resources Development Leader at Modikwa Platinum Mine. The incumbent will report directly to the Business Area Leader of Human Resources.

Position: Human Resources Development Leader – D Upper

Classification: Internal/External

Requirements:

  • Relevant HR/HRD Degree or NQF 6 EDTP Qualification.
  • Registered assessor and moderator with the relevant SETA will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in Human Resources Development, with at least 3 years at line management level.
  • Two years of management/HRD Coordinator experience in a mining environment will be an advantage.
  • Experience working in a production environment in a mining operation will be an advantage.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the following legislation:

    • Skills Development Act
    • Employment Equity Act
    • Labour Relations Act
    • Mine Health and Safety Act
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office Package and SAP.
  • A valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket).
  • A valid Code 08 driver’s license.

Technical Work Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with HRD processes and legal training matters.
  • Develop, drive, and implement relevant HRD systems and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with NQF standards and efficient budget control.
  • Ensure SHE compliance, conduct audits, and manage corrective processes.

  • Responsible for relevant benchmarking regarding training processes and systems.
  • Ensure mentorship and development processes are executed at the company level.
  • Deliver quality assurance for the HRD function.
  • Develop and roll out appropriate HRD strategies, plans, and schedules.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

Work Description:

The Human Resources Development Leader is responsible for managing the HRD Department, optimizing HRD processes, systems, and procedures, ensuring legislative compliance, and overseeing project management.

The role includes providing expert advice concerning HRD issues, contributing to an efficient and effective consultancy service to employees and other stakeholders.
