Intern Accountant (12 Months)

What will you do?
As an Intern Accountant, you will manage operational activities related to bank reconciliations, broker and fee activities, and ensure reconciliations are aligned with confirmations from the Investment Management Company while managing risks.
Key Outcomes:
You will be expected to:
- Manage daily bank accounts
- Process daily investment and disinvestment instructions efficiently
- Compile monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis
- Complete monthly fee reconciliation for broker commissions
- Finalize administration fee reconciliations on time
- Run daily commission fees from Compass
- Report and investigate fee anomalies
- Upload global fees and perform conversions monthly
- Handle general queries related to commission files
- Conduct trial commission reconciliations and liaise with offshore MANCOs
- Perform daily transaction reconciliations
- Identify and resolve exceptions with investment managers and internal teams
- Reconcile transactions on the investment manager report for approval
- Prepare asset and liability reports
- Generate stakeholder reports, including Nomco and Board reports
- Request investment management company statements for reconciliation
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Investment, or equivalent
- Must reside in Gauteng
- No prior work experience or 6 months or less of internship/work experience
- Must be 28 years old or younger

Qualification and Experience:
- Grade 12 with 3 to 5 years of related experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Recording financial transactions
- Familiarity with reconciliations and query resolution
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
