Requirements:

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) in International Relations, Political Science, Business Management, Development Studies, or a related qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 1 year of administrative work experience in the field of regional/international cooperation focusing on SMME issues.
  • In-depth understanding of South Africa’s foreign policy.

  • Good knowledge of international politics, diplomacy, and regional and global SMME and cooperative economic issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Packages, Protocol, and Project Management.
  • A valid driver’s license and confidential security clearance will be considered advantageous.

  • Competencies required include:

Duties:

  • Coordinate information requests from SMMEs, cooperatives, and emerging exporters concerning international relations and developmental interventions.
  • Gather and develop country profiles based on relevant information.
  • Conduct desktop research and statistical analysis on South Africa’s trade and diplomatic positions in relation to other countries.
  • Track progress of action plans as outlined in back-to-office reports (BTORs).
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements locally and internationally.

  • Maintain a database of international donors, multilateral and bilateral agreements, and SMME-related programs implemented across different government spheres.
  • Provide general administrative support to the business unit, including minute-taking, reporting, and documentation.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, clients, management, and colleagues through written and verbal means, including formal presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
