Purpose of the Job:
We invite you to join our Digital Business Solutions team as an intern, where you will delve into data analytics and software development, contributing to our digital transformation initiatives. You will be an integral member of our international team comprising Data Scientists and Full-Stack Developers within Sasol Chemicals.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver digital solutions founded on advanced data analytics and application development while collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the value chain, from Operations to Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team as part of an agile squad on a specific project.
- Analyze production and business data using advanced statistical methods, Artificial Intelligence, and machine learning techniques.
- Gather and integrate information from various data sources, preparing large datasets of diverse structures and complexities.
- Build and deploy sustainable software solutions (frontend and backend) while adhering to best practices.
- Cooperate with the Product Owner and stakeholders to implement scalable solutions.
- Actively participate in Scrum processes and team meetings to enhance communication and transparency.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in programming, informatics, mathematics, statistics, and optimization.
- Programming expertise in Python, Django, JavaScript, React, and SQL.
- Familiarity with application development and deployment technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps).
Formal Education:
- BSc in Computer Science, BSc in Data Science, BSc in Actuarial Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 0 – 2+ years of relevant experience.
