Job Description

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Driver Code 14 x 3 at our Atlas Cables branch. This role reports directly to the Branch Manager and is essential for ensuring the efficient delivery and collection of materials to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness before journeys.
• Report vehicle defects or accidents immediately to the branch manager.
• Verify compliance with weight and height limits for bridges and tunnels.
• Navigate to destinations efficiently and on schedule.
• Load stock in accordance with log sheets and ensure accurate delivery notes.
• Submit delivery administration and reports for accurate record-keeping.
• Obtain client signatures as proof of delivery.
• Communicate effectively with clients to resolve any complaints.
• Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
• Track vehicle service schedules and report to the operations manager.
• Report delivery-related issues to the Operations Manager.
• Adhere to all safety and security regulations.

Qualifications

• Matric / Equivalent is essential.
• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence is mandatory.
• Valid PDP / CD licence is required.
• Hazchem certificate is necessary.
• Valid passport is desirable.
• Proven experience as a Truck Driver.
• Ability to handle dangerous goods.
• Familiarity with GPS technology and AVL units.
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and safety standards.
