Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern

Job Purpose

A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is seeking a proactive and dynamic EHS Intern to join its EQS team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced EQS professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience within a multinational corporate environment.

This internship is designed to provide exposure to various EHS, Quality and Security areas and to support the day-to-day activities of the Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Legal Structure:

  • Assist to ensure country safety organizations aligns with legal requirements.
  • If EHS related training is required , assist to identify vendors and communicate requirements.

Regulations and Compliance:

·       Communicate updated legal requirements to Business Areas and Functions.

Health Programs:

·       Ensure health programs in the Business Areas and Functions align with legal requirements and SE standard. Promote collaboration on health initiatives and share best practices.

Incident Management  

·       Ensure compliant reporting of incidents to relevant authorities. Control and verification of completeness of incident management and reporting process.

KPI Reporting:

  • Train employees on IT EHS software.
  • Provide overview of critical deadlines for reporting to country authorities and agencies and monitor timely submission of reports.

EHS Communications:

·       Issue safety communications (e.g. Alerts, Bulletins) and lessons learned in coordination with the country leadership team.

General Administrative Support:

·       Provide general administrative support to the EQS team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and handling routine correspondence.

Qualifications

  • In possession of an Environmental Health diploma obtained from a South African University.
  • Demonstrated understanding of EHS principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant EHS software.
  • Passion for EHS management.
