Internship Overview

Samsung Electronics South Africa Production (Pty) Ltd is recruiting for the Environmental Health and Safety Internship Programme 2024.

Closing date: 21 May 2024

Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or any related qualification.
• Candidate MUST have their own transport.

Duties and Responsibilities

The internship will cover but not limited to the following areas

• Perform risk evaluations
• Reinforce EHS Management as per ISO QMS
• Perform EHS inspections/site audits
• Manage the lire prevention equipment and maintaining the records
• Coordinating evacuation exercises to ensure that all employees become familiar with these procedures.

• Compiling, reviewing, updating and Implementing SHE procedures as and when necessary
• Controlling all personal protective equipment and investigating new PPE if ever there is a need.
• Conducting daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all areas to ensure implementation of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management policies and practices
• Ensure that staff are informed of safety acts and other safety related Issues at production daily meetings.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication
• Ability to plan and handle communication with all levels of staff
• Ability to pay attention to detail and keep accuracy levels
• Ability to work under pressure
• Planning and organizing skills.
