The following positions are open for application at Nampak:

Mechanical Fitter

  • City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa 

Purpose of Role: To perform the maintenance and project activities in support of production requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 plus Qualified Artisan – Red Seal (Fitter, Millwright, Fitter & Turner).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG).
  • Experience in conducting effective Root Cause Analysis & problem solving would be an advantage.
  • Experience in pipe work, welding, rigging and machine installation is essential.

Competencies:

  • Be competent in reading and understanding technical drawings
  • Interpersonal and communication skills at different levels.
  • Be self-motivated team player with a high level of commitment and drive.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Good attendance and timekeeping.

Knowledge:

  • FCCG experience a must.
  • Be able to read and fault find from technical drawings.

Electrician

  • City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (On-site)

Purpose of Role: To perform the maintenance and project activities in support of production requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 plus Qualified Artisan – Red Seal (Electrician, Millwright)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG)

Knowledge:

  • PLC knowledge in fault finding preferably Siemens S7 and Omron
  • Be able to read and fault find from electrical schematic drawings

Experience:

  • Electrical problem solving and diagnostic experience.
  • Experience in high speed production equipment.
  • Experience on AC drives (Danfoss, Siemens).
  • Oven combustion (Gas) and temp control experience.
  • High speed Inspection Systems Experience (Cameras).
  • Knowledge on servo drives – would be advantage.

Competencies:

  • Hard wire and relay logic fault finding.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills at different levels.
  • Be self-motivated team player with a high level of commitment and drive.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Maintenance Team Lead

  • City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (On-site)

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / N3
  • N6/T3/S4 Mechanical Engineering – added advantage
  • Qualified Fitter &Turner (Red Seal)

Competencies:

  • Excellent people management ability and a reasonable understanding of IR issues
  • Above average technical ability
  • Must have problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership qualities as well as interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail

Experience:

  • 5-7 years’ experience as an Artisan
  • Training on maintenance of press tooling

Knowledge and skills:

  • Be computer literate – experience in JDE, barcoding, working knowledge of MS Word; Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Have analytical skills.
  • Familiar with world class practices such as; WCM (World Class Maintenance), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), TQM (Total Quality Management), JIT (Just in Time), Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma.

  • City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (On-site)

Purpose of the Role:

Ensure safe and efficient manufacturing of good quality cans produced according to the production plan and to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High quality production.
  • Spoilage control and reduction.
  • Efficient machine utilization.
  • Promotion and development of teamwork.
  • Maintenance of production equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Matric/N3
  • Qualified artisan in a related field

Competencies:

  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be analytical and a good problem solver
  • Be quality conscious and supportive. Ability to work under pressure
  • Be analytical and a problem solver

Experience:

Minimum 3 years working experience in the Can making environment (Advantageous)
