Nature Connect is calling for applications for the Nature Conservation Graduate Internship Programme 2024.

Nature Connect supports the preservation of South Africa’s unique and biodiverse natural heritage through education, training and conservation initiatives.

Nature Connect invites individuals willing to partake in a 12-month graduate internship programme – who have successfully completed their qualification in Nature Conservation (Degree or Diploma) – to apply for this career opportunity.

Internship outcomes

  1. The internship is for a period of 12 months
  2. A stipend allocation of R5000.00 per month is included less necessary deductions (UIF, TAX)
  3. Workplace experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in the conservation of biodiversity on your current reserves or conservation areas
  • Monitoring and removal of invasive vegetation
  • Assist with tasks such as fires, rehabilitation and restoration, infrastructure maintenance, monitoring fauna and flora, plant propagation and administration
  • Collection of data relating to site restoration Interacting with community members, residents, business owners and organisations to promote environmental education and awareness of and involvement in the reserve.

Requirements

  • In possession of a Matric certificate as well as a Diploma or Degree in Nature Conservation
  • Between the ages of 18 – 35 years
  • South African Citizens with a valid ID
  • Must be interested in working outdoors and doing practical work
  • At least six months’ experience in a nature conservation role would similar role would be advantageous

  5. All copies to be certified within one month.
  6. Failure to submit requested documents will result in your application not being considered.
