Consolidated Wire Industries (Pty) Ltd invites applications for the Apprenticeship Programme 2024.

Consolidated Wire Industries, known as CWI, has been manufacturing premium mild steel wire and wire products in South Africa since 1949, producing wire for local and international markets alike.

Apprenticeship trades available

Applications are invited from young dynamic South African individuals who wish to be trained for 3 years as Electrician and Instrumentation Mechanician artisans:

  1. Electrical
  2. Instrumentation
  3. Mechanician

Minimum Requirements

Learners who want to be considered for the apprenticeship must comply with the following minimum entry requirements:

Grade 12 (Technical Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Spence with symbol E or 40% Pass mark…
OR

Either currently in Grade 12 (Technical Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science as year-end subjects. The applicant’s final year examination results before engagement and indenture must confirm achievement of Symbol E or 40% pass mark… OR

Currently registered for National Certificate: Vocation 4 (NCV-4) at a Further Education and Training (FIT) College. The applicants final results before engagement and indenture must confirm achievement of Symbol E or 40% pass mark in both Mathematics and Engineering Science and two trade related subjects… OR

In possession of Engineering Science at Technical Certificate (NTC3) with a 40% pass mark in both Mathematics and Engineering Science and two trade related subjects.

The applicant must be citizen of the Republic of Soutn Africa.

Selection Process

Candidates we be required be go through a comprehensive selection process which includes interviews, tests, medicals, reference checks and verificabon of qualifications.

  • Copy of the National Technical Certificate (NTC3) …OR
  • the NTC3 FET College statement of results …OR
