About Mayday South Africa
Mayday is an independent non-profit aviation-based organisation, founded in
2012.
The organisation offers support to all
aviation professionals. Their peers are all
volunteers and have specialised training to:
- listen & provide effective support in a safe and confidential environment;
- understand the world of fellow aviation
- professionals and the unique challenges faced;
- acknowledge that every person is susceptible to the impact of critical events and crises.
The Mayday-SA peer volunteers provide support to any aviation professional who is struggling with the after effects of an incident/accident involving them or their family, and life and/or work related difficulties.
Basic Requirements
Are you:
- A good listener?
- Dedicated to helping others?
- Interested in being a part of a supportive network for aviation colleagues?
- 27 Years or older?
Training Requirements
On 5 – 7 Sept 2024, we will be training new peer volunteers. Requirements to join our team?
- 27 years or older
- Minimum 5 years aviation experience
- Willing to commit to time and responsibilities to be a peer and support the goals of Mayday-SA.
- Attend meetings and refresher training days (always advised in advance)
