Are you employed in the environmental or conservation sector and want to grow your skill-set? Nature Connect’s Green Skills project has 15 Nature Conservation learnerships on offer — tuition fully paid.

Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a National Certificate in Nature Conservation: Resource Guardianship (NQF2), which will open the doors to further opportunities.

What’s in the Learnership?

You will learn how to:

  • conserve biodiversity on your current reserve or conservation areas;
  • monitor and remove invasive vegetation;
  • assist with tasks such as fire management, rehabilitation, infrastructure maintenance, fauna and flora monitoring, plant propagation and administrative duties;
  • collect data for site-restoration purposes; and
  • promote environmental education and awareness about the relevant reserve among community members, residents, business owners and related organisations.

You will be expected to:

  • commit to the 12-month learning programme;
  • allocate six weeks for in-person training over those 12 months;
  • attend training and learner-support sessions; and
  • complete assignments related to practical experiences on reserves timeously.
