POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that pool vehicles are kept in a clean condition and report any maintenance intervention related requirements timeously.
- Maintain tools and equipment by ensuring that they are not lost or damaged, and report in incidents of loss or damage.
- Daily keeping of vehicle logbooks.
- Provide driving services by driving and delivering tools for repairs and maintenance to the maintenance and repair teams.
- Take an active role with repairs on bulk or other pipelines, from planning to execution. Executions not limited to excavation to replacement, bedding, and pipe filling.
- Weekly inspections and reporting of faults on pipelines and pipeline equipment.
- Perform functions as required, such as, operating of TLB, Grader, Mobile crane, Water tanker or excavator (Yellow fleet).
- Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance on the plant, pumpstations and pipelines.
- Involved with assisting in installation, repair, service and maintain pipes, valves, pumps, meters and other related mechanical machinery, boreholes, and plant equipment.
- Provide assistance with repairs on mainline pipe breaks within 36 hours.
- Assist with repairs of secondary breaks within 24 hours.
- Comply with leave policy by ensuring that leave, attendance registers and overtime documents are duly completed and signed.
- Observe health and safety protocols by ensuring compliance with regulations and policy and observe safety protocols.
- Any other task as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or Minimum Technical N2 or higher in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical
- 1 year or more experience working in the maintenance of water infrastructure (An added advantage)
- Machine operations: (An added advantage) – TLB – Crane – Excavator – Grader
- Valid Drivers’ License Code Cl – EC
