Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible to strategically manage and coordinate the activities of the Institute and be responsible for its day-to-day business.

The role has the authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Board, while ensuring that the Institute performs its functions effectively and in line with the provisions of the NRWDI Act.

The CEO will be accountable to the Board and reports to the Chairperson of the Board and, should have a technical or scientific understanding of the nuclear energy/radioactive waste management field, and credibility with its diverse range of stakeholders.

Minimum Qualification

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant scientific and/or engineering field at a minimum of NQF level 9, complemented by a strategic leadership qualification (and MBA will be an added advantage).

The legal services manager is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the legal services unit, whose role is to provide legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.

Skills:

  • Leadership / management skills (strategic management, change management, people management, planning and organizing, risk management).
  • Analytical skills (analyzing complex information, concepts and ideas, applying theoretical and conceptual knowledge, dealing with ambiguity, creativity and innovation).
  • Communication skills (active listening, effective writing, presenting, providing feedback, mentoring, coaching, mediating, negotiating).
  • Business skills (project management, financial management, performance management and development, problem-solving, decision-making).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.

Minimum Qualification

  • An LLB degree plus nuclear law qualification is a requirement. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Executive Manager: Corporate Services

Executive Manager: Corporate Services is responsible for providing executive management and leadership in the provision of corporate services for operational and strategic human capital management, information and technology management, legal services, and administration & facilities management.

Skills:

  • Leadership / management skills (strategic management, change management, people management, planning and organising, risk management);
  • Analytical skills (analysing complex information, concepts and ideas, applying theoretical and conceptual knowledge, dealing with ambiguity, creativity and innovation);

Minimum Qualification

  • A least an Honours Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
