Purpose of Job
To coordinate health and safety activities to facilitate inspections, data gathering, and data maintenance and integrate health and safety initiatives into SASOL operations to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Duties and Responsibilies
Delivery targets (e.g. tons, products, service)
- Monitor and respond proactively to hazards in the workplace
- Conduct hazard identification in the workplace
- Facilitate safety related risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations
- Facilitate RCA’s
- Report deviations and hazards to Management.
Quality results (agreed standards/compliance)
- Participate in ad hoc Service Provider audits on site to check compliance to SHE file requirements
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Provide input during risk assessments to ensure safety issues are identified
- Participate in the respective safety meetings
- Participate in the roll out of the Safety Improvement Plan and report updates as required.

- Continuously develop extensive knowledge relating to the field of work and personal mastery in technical skills

- Ensure that self and team meet targets, due dates and quality standards

- Manage adhoc requests and tasks
- Review policies, standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Grade 12 with Maths and Physical with trade qualification or blasting certificate, SAMTRAC (align to Engineering or Mining career ladder) AND 7 years total work experience (Mining or Engineering Related)
OR
National Diploma/ B-Tech in Engineering or Safety Management AND 3 years total work experience (Mining related, Engineering/ Mining Practices).
