Key Responsibilities
- Understanding Group Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions objectives and function
- Supporting in the activities of the Strategy and M&A function, including but not limited to analysis or potential investment opportunities, valuations, preparation of investment thesis for opportunities, and preparation of documents for investment committees, board, etc.
- Supporting objectives through learning key deliverables and facilitating execution of these
- Support design and streamlining of functional administrative processes
- Track key strategic project costs
- Maintain administrative universe for Strategy, M&A function including critical data; supplier contracts and invoices; payment schedule
- Support Barloworld strategy deployment and governance processes
- Liaise with key suppliers within Strategy, M&A function
- Support daily administrative tasks
- Perform Due Diligence report for vetting of new suppliers
- Assist with departmental queries
- Perform ad-hoc functions and any other activities as requested by manager
- Support Budget and Forecasting Process
- Perform month-end processing and monthly divisional and departmental cost allocations
- Perform monthly variance analysis
- Load purchase requisitions and orders on Sage X3 system
- Load invoices on Laserfiche system
- Facilitate monthly payment process (recurring and ad hoc)
- Respond to role specific departmental queries
Academic qualifications
Essential:
- Bcom – Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Investment Mangement or similar qualification
Work experience
Advantageous:
- 1 years + experience in an investment analyst or in a strategy analyst role
Knowledge
Essential:
- Sound financial and accounting knowledge combined with commercial acumen
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
