About the Workplace Experiental Programme
The Practical Workplace Experiential Programme provides work experience to students who study towards and who have successfully completed all the theory components in Engineering qualifications at a Technicon or University of Technology.
The programme is composed of practical workplace exposure P1 for 6 months and P2 for 6 months.
Study Fields Available
P1/P2 Workplace Experience Programs available for the following disciplines:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering (Light current)/
- Instrumentation
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
- The incumbent will enter a work integrated learning (WIL) program with the MQA and will obtain working experience in their qualification discipline field at Glencore Boshoek Smelter
- The candidate will undergo practical training and exposure at the premises of the company
- Compliance with the company’s HSEC system is essential.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Grade 12
- Must have completed all S1- S4 theory components of the qualification and only require the practical workplace experience component to complete the qualification for specified disciplines above
- Be in a possession of a completion letter from the institution confirming the incumbent meets the WIL requirements. Applications without the completion letter will NOT be considered.
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
- Proficient in English written language
- Achievement driven, accurate and timeous completion of assignments (result driven)
- Ability to function independently with good interpersonal skills
